Story
"Could you please let me watch you masturbate!?" Romance novelist Rio's struggling to write a young adult erotic novel. From what her agent says, her writing "has no sex appeal"... After some careful deliberation, she begs Mr. Fujishima, a cute banker she just happened to meet, to let her interview him about his sexual encounters. Fujishima doesn't look happy... tl;dr - If you're looking for a mature, realistic, almost slice-of-life 18+ het manga with great chemistry and tension between the main characters, this series is worth all your money. What makes this series stand out is the strength and realism of the characters. Rio, our heroine, seems to be your classic ditzy innocent ingenue, but what makes her stand out is that these characteristics are all part of a very believable personality rather than a lazy plot device. Rio has a lot of agency over her body and her desires, which is so refreshing to see. And in perfect contrast is our hero Fujishima, a grumpy but ultimately golden-hearted office worker that actually respects Rio's decisions (a novel trait in these types of manga). While the plot is fairly typical in terms of its progression, it's still all done with a respect for the heroine's journey that never belittles her. Highly recommended - a gold standard among 18+ manga.

I absolutely love the characters! It reminds me of the Artist and the Gangster. The storyline is different, but what makes them similar are the unique main characters. They're different from the typical shy, naive female MC. I adore the main characters! This manga is great and I really wanna read more soon! Great art, great characters, and great story!

Agree with previous reviewers. Main characters are interesting, have chemistry, and are different from the usual in this genre, plus the steamy parts are hot! The last few pages left me laughing. So far a very strong first chapter and definitely going to buy the next.

I really like the first few chapters. It's very entertaining but when I got to 11&12, it just went downhill. I feel so bad for the main guy. I understand that Rio's character is naive and that's very cute and funny most of the time BUT it was just a turn off for ch11&12. I do hope the situation gets better for the upcoming chapters. I atleast want to see a new character preferably a lady trying to seduce the main guy so that Rio can experience what he's experiencing right now.

I'm really interested in this one. It's definitely one I'd recommend to others. The heroine is quirky and comedic. While the main male lead is a normally stoic salaryman. It's such a shame that there's only 9 chapters out in English while on the Japanese website for Renta, there's 12 already. I hope the translator didn't drop this project.

As I write this I've just purchased chapter 9, pretty much as soon as it was released... that's how much I love this story!! The female lead is ditzy and adorable, and the male lead is grumpy on the outside, but bittersweet like dark chocolate on the inside. Why do I say bittersweet... because he does get annoyed with the female lead when she does stupid stuff, and is being a total airhead, (I'm not saying she's stupid, she just sees the world differently, and does stuff that make you go OMG, like 'accidentally' stalking the male lead), and ends up letting out his mild S side, teasing the female lead thoroughly to completion. This also humorously lead to him being left hanging in their first encounter, when the female lead ditches him as soon as she got the data she needed!! LOL The side characters are also good... the female editor obviously cares for her writer, but every time she tries to 'help' she just seems to make matters worse, but because she is oblivious to her failures, she continues to try to do a good deed. The male editor is a really nice guy, who has been firmly 'friend-zoned' by the female lead and knows it, but still he perseveres!! It's good that he has made the male lead jealous, and aware of his feelings, but he's also the type of guy you want to see get a happy ending... just not with the female lead!! XD In short, excellent characters, good storyline, hot sex scenes, what's not to love!!

I... I absolutely adore this series. At first, I bought the first couple volumes out of curiosity, but I couldn't restrain myself from immediately buying all the way up to the current volume, the ninth one. Mr. Fujishima, the male lead, presses all the right buttons for me. He may be, quite possibly, my favorite character on this site. He is surprisingly complex and extremely sexy. He is mature, has indomitable self-control, is secure in his career and goals, and doesn't quite know what to make of the female lead, Rio. Now, Rio is just as complex, and she's a very unique character, unlike a lot of cookie-cutter female leads out there. She is naive in a way that directly contradicts how candid her personality is. She knows what she wants, and she will go after it with everything she has--but, at the same time, she's new to sex and feelings for another person, which she eventually develops for Mr. Fujishima throughout the course of their "fuck-buddy" relationship. Seriously, I can't wait for the next volume. I'm practically salivating for it.

The story is excellent, but be prepared to wait months and months between updates. Pretty sure I've been checking this on and off for a couple of years now. Of course most chapters end with cliffhangers, which makes the erratic update schedule even harder to deal with.

This manga is gold ! You have romance, comedy and erotic scenes at the same time. The main characters are really funny and well-built. In one hand, you have Rio, a romance novelist who has difficulties to write sex scenes...and so she decided to learn how to have sex ! In another hand, you have Mr. Fujishima, a banker who answered her demands, as foolish as there are ! I love how their relationship is developping, not too fast, not too slow. The main characters are like opposites, but there is great chemistry between them. Conclusion : If you want a very hilarious and cute romance with a lot of smut, this manga is for you ! ^_^

honestly, i'm on chapter 20 and while i do think i should stop here and there i find myself continuing bc of Mr. Fujishima xDRio was cute the first few chaps but THERE MUST BE A LIMIT to HOW DENSE AND idk Stupid? one could be...like i get everyone starts at some point with things, like having first sex and whatnot, but NOT KNOWING that "moving in with a guy if you're NOT dating or planing on being roommates with your guyfriend"...you GOTTA be at Least This smart to know that thats wrong! oOi mean she has her good moments, but i'm annoyed by her a LOT ._.other than that, the ART is GREAT! the story is nice (was really Good in the Beginning tho) and Mr. Fujishima is Supernice :D

I've read all three available volumes 4 times in the 24 hours that I've had them, it's that good. He's so grumpy and put-upon and she's so... almost aggressively straightforward yet so clueless. I love it. I love everything about it. I'm actually kind of dismayed the author doesn't have any other works available, and that I have to wait for additional volumes of this one!

I love this. The guy is such a gentlemen. Even though he wants to, he knows she only wants him to teach her and doesn't take any advantage of her. But I have it four stars because the female character is a little predictable and the male lead is the only one holding up this story.

I've read until chapter 14 and so far the art style is fantastic. The heat level for the sex is off the charts. The plot is simple but executed well and at a good pace. The characters are amusing too. My only gripe is that the main heroine's ignorance is gonna hurt a lot of people. Once her feelings get into play, she'd have to be a class A idiot or autistic to not have some degree of self awareness and empathy for others. This character flaw in a supposed writer of erotic romance (the heroine)?a book genre supposedly saturated with emotions?is hard to swallow. Ignorance and idiocy are different, so I hope the artist/author quickly differentiates the two as the plot and characters develop. Can't wait for the next chapter. It seems to be taking awhile.

Rio is so naive, it honestly hurts. She acts like she's 12 and doesn't know what's going on in the world and it gets really annoying. The art is nice, and I like the story premise. But Rio's character has almost no substance, she really can't do much and she's infatuated by a random man she lets hook up with her. She doesn't even write anymore so her character is dry to me.

This is easily one of my absolute favorite series. The dynamic between Rio and Ayato is absolutely precious. The sex scenes are so hot and sensual but also very endearing because you can see how much they care about to each other and want each other. Truly, truly a wonderful story with beautiful artistry and great consistency in all aspects. I just finished chapter 20 and I can shamelessly I'm so in love with this series. Both the female MC (Rio) and the male MC (Mr. Fujishima) are polar opposites but in an endearing way and they say 'opposites attract.' Rio is just so innocent, adorable, & silly but open minded. Mr. Fujishima is a bit closed off, very cautious, and unsure or himself but DAYUM is he handsome. The character development is both realistic and heartwarming to watch unravel throughout the story and even now. It is a bit of roller-coaster but, in my opinion, it worth it because it helps build up the storyline(not necessarily in a cliche or obviously way) making it that much more enjoyable. I've already re-read the series a couple times waiting for the updates, it's that good. Lastly, I have definitely need to that the sex scenes are extremely tasteful, intimate, and passionate. 10/10 for me, y'all!

As someone who has read a tireless amount of generic and cliche webcomics from almost every manga site you can think of after digging through so many normal stories I've found one that actually exciting, sweet, naughty and leaves much to the imagination in a great way. I've found the main character to be very kind and sweet but not a Mary Sue character. Her relationship with Mr. fujishima is a very roller coaster type of affair. I never knew what to expect next and it really did dodge a lot of cliches they could have used. I'm not a fan of really overly fetishized Hentais or erotic novels so to find one that is somewhat vanilla and has romance in it is a very big plus to me. If you're tired of reading manga after manga of the same story but different art and really want to read something sweet and spicy I highly recommend you give this a read! I cannot wait to read the next chapters!

Such a great read. So much smutty manga fail to get the story, or the chemistry, or the visuals right. This delivers on all fronts. The thing that makes me love this is the emphasis on CONSENT. Like my god, people fail to realize just how insanely sexy consent is, but this mangaka knows! This is by far my favorite series!! The story is so well balanced, it's a story of clumsy love as both the main characters figure out their feelings for each other... While feeling each other! ;D Rio and Mr. Fujishima's dynamic is so unique. Not to mention how hot he is! It's got good amounts of laughs in it, a great plot with an appropriate pace, really hot and detailed smex scenes, and the illustration and dialogue is so thorough and detailed!! I'm obsessed with this series and can't wait for the next volume! Most definitely worth the money! I re-read it all the time!

This is probably at the top of my list of manga on this app so far (followed by Do Androids Dream of Love?, The Artist and the Beast, this fairytale related one, and several other good ones). I LOVE the plotline and the characters!! The art is good as well. The characters aren't just hollow sex robots. The scenario is over-the-top, but in a way that works with the characters and doesn't feel trite or forced. Not to mention the scenario manages to make the love scenes so much more sexy/erotic :o) Never thought I'd praise a sex manga so much

This only gets better with each installment! At first I was annoyed at how unbelievably clueless Rio was about her own body despite being a grown woman. However in this case the clueless virgin trope lent itself well to genuinely comedic and empathetic moments. You couldn't help but bask in her joy and at the same time appreciate her muse's frustration. He handles himself like a gentleman with realistic emotions given the insane situation he's walked into. Both characters are willing and careful to consider each other's consent and desires at every step. I wish more erotic writers would do as well to include such agency. The artwork is beautiful and each panel is well composed. The drawings do a good job of realistically communicating what's happening their anatomy even with the fuzziness of censorship. So far this is my favorite series on Renta.

Used to think of this as a 5-star smut...now there's "baby-making" in the picture. What?? How is all that procreation talk attractive? It isn't, and the way it came into the picture was astoundingly sexist. Rio is also unbearable now. I can no longer think of this series positively and am mad I spent any money on it. Abandoning.

This manga is the reason I got Renta. It's absolutely unique - I've been trying to find others like it but to no avail, though I hope many will follow in its footsteps. The difference to other mangas? Rio! She's assertive, she has agency, she's not the passive victim in this story. She seeks out to blackmail someone into showing her his dick, she's the one who sets things up so they end up in a sex dungeon can't leave the room unless situation, she's the one driving this story. And all the while, this doesn't mean Ayato Fujishima is passive in her stead - the roles aren't simply flipped. This manga models ways how BOTH parties can have agency, can be assertive at once. This manga is rewriting Japanese sexual gender roles and dynamics and it's a gift, flipping every script so both get a say and both are allowed to enjoy fully. It's fantastic! To me, this sexy manga is to mainstream hentai what ethical, feminist porn is to mainstream porn. I wish more people would emulate this author!

I thought Mr. Fujishima was going to be your typical male tsundere, but he's surprisingly relatable. He's older, more experienced in life and a little more jaded when it comes to love. So, he 's not quick to accept someone as odd and forthcoming as Rio. The process of trying to figure her out is hilarious-and it becomes hard to tell who really gets swept away by whom.

I want stories with decent plot and some hot steamy scenes, but I rarely get both with shoujo/josei mangas, which is why I switched over to yaoi... that's why I'm so happy when this manga came out!! The plot is simple but sweet and almost every chapter has snusnu ??I'm taking 1 star off coz the confession chapter took sooooo long, story is still good to read but it was getting kinda annoying with how dense the mc is.

Overall, I've enjoyed this manga (very hot sex scenes, great art, I really feel for the male lead) but it's not five star for me because of our female lead, Rio. I like her well enough, but her cluelessness and wide eyed naivete has worn thin narratively for me. Usually I enjoy manga where our leads have a topsy turvy road to realizing and admitting their feelings, but with how slow this manga comes out it just feels like banging my head against a wall seeing Rio just like "whaaa??? what is this????" for what feels like the 9000th time.

She's so relatable. I feel like if I got sucked into writing like I wanted to in middle school, I could've easily ended up like her lol. I'm glad I actually have a good dose of self awareness from the few boyfriends I had. Anyway, it's a really good series and I love how naturally provocative she is completely by accident. None of her intimate interactions with Mr. Fujishima feel forced or fake. Their relationship comes off as clumsy yet sweet and the snags in their relationship caused by innocent fumbling creates a perfect tension. It's a must read!

I absolutely love the chemistry between them. Rio isn't the brightest bulb but I'm glad she has someone like Ayato. I feel he can really take care of her and he's respectful of her despite how weird she is. I think it's really sweet and why I like Ayato so much as a main love interest. A lot of other love interests in ero-manga can be a little inconsiderate but he just seems the guy to love so much once he finds the one and it really shows how well he's portrayed here. I can't wait for the next chapter, I want these idiots to be happy! ;w;

Hooked since the get go! I love this now on the last recently released chapter we are coming to a mid way climax, let's see how this goes. So far SOOOOO good, just finished chapter 6. I know I will be reading this until it's done, I will probably lose sleep, and I will likely read it again, over and over. What a well rounded story, from super hot steamy sexiness to laughing to tears hilarious! Worth every penny! It's got some classic moves done perfectly and some brand new ones. This is one of my favorite mangas and one of the first ones I've read on Renta. It is so steamy and hot, but as the story progresses it becomes cuter. They don't know whether it's just sex or something more. Mr. Fujishima's character doesn't agree at first but later he starts to get sexually frustrated and gets confused as he starts to look at Rio differently (maybe love!). Rio is so cute and discovers new sensations and intimacy. Worth reading! patiently waiting for chapter 15.

Such a wonderful story.Rio is a really fun and likable heroine, and you really find yourself rooting for her and thinking "GO FOR IT!"Even though Mr Fujishima is very charming, a few times I found myself ALMOST cheering for Hikaru. His motives are truly admirable, after all.All the characters are likable, there's no one I think is a bad person, really. This series can be over the top with Rio's naivety, BUT I still like her genuine attitude. She's hot in a clumsy way but I like how she realizes when she gets into the moment. The scenes with her and Fujishima are done really well. I wish those moments lasted a little longer. I can't help but like every character and the mangaka does a good job of that. It pulls on the heart strings a bit when you want to root for Hikaru but you know it's not right!

I can confidently say that this is my favorite series on Renta thus far. I spend some time contemplating over whether or not to purchase a series, but I never regret buying each release of this story to the point that I'm interested in what else this mangaka has produced. The way their relationship develops feels organic, and though I find the heroine to be a bit unrealistically naive, she's refreshing and charming in other ways to keep me coming back for more.The art style is also a big plus for me. It's easy for me to be taken out of a story by stiff, overdrawn, or awkward illustrations, but the art in this series feels effortless and natural, making the intimate scenes that much more exciting. This series deserves it's high rating and is my main reason for visiting Renta.

Hikaru's interference and the main character's denseness have started to quite irritate me. The graphics are amazing! I love reading YA books and I can really relate with the story! The guy is hot too and he shows that he's starting to care for her. There's also smut in the first chapter and all the chapters. Buying this was worth it! I hope I get more money to buy the rest

Terrible title aside this comic is without a doubt the crowning jewel in this service's catalog. It is so good I would actually purchase a physical copy of the series if I could get my hands on it. The characters are interesting each and every one of them. In particular I majorly enjoy the main man. I have no clue how the artist managed to cram so much sex appeal into an average salary man but damn. I also enjoy the way the way the artist in this series gives each character a distinctive fashion sense. The clothes are gorgeous, the men are gorgeous, and the women have actual personalities. What more could you ask for? I squeal with delight every time this series updates and I highly recommend reading it. It is the best.

Superb. Great art and even better chemistry between the leads who have personalities and quirks (aren't just stock characters). Even the minor and background characters are engaging. The storyline is implausible, but the characters are so endearing that you just won't care! I've re-read this and there are quite a few scenes that always make me laugh, like the forehead massage scene. I can't recommend this enough: the mix of romance, tragicomedy, and earnestness will enchant you.

The characters are interesting and their personalities and relationships grow as you read them. The sex scenes are some of the best I've seen in a while, and the chemistry the author's given the main characters really sells them. I could definitely do without the obvious incoming drama, though. The thing that makes this manga interesting is the developing relationship between the two main characters and their personalities, so I'm really hoping the author doesn't go too deep into the typical shoujo love triangle troupe.

Contrary to belief you can judge a book by it's cover. I came to Renta for the Artist and the beast. Which is also Amazing. Back to this manga... the cover did not appeal to me. I'm glad I gave it a try and have now read up to Chapter 9! The heroine is so so adorable and the art is very detailed if you know what I mean....hehehe

This is so cute, not perfect, but really cute and funny. The h is so dense, kinda TSTL, but she's also just plain adorable in how wacky her way of thinking is, it's laugh out loud, really. The H is really hot, but has a bad temper and isn't very nice, but he puts up with all of her quirks, so I can't be mad at him, kinda admire him for that. This is just completely off the rocker crazy at how fast the smexy times start, but at the same time the flow of the story is pretty good. I feel like the H is more relatable than the h, he seems more grounded and realistic. While the h clearly lives in lalaland, makes sense since she's a romance writer, lol! Also not a fan at how cliche her way of thinking is at times, like if I look pretty he'll love me. Um, no. And I love the rival as well, he's pretty dreamy (so far). Art is lovely and seems really cool and modern, I like it! Can't wait to see where this goes and if these two can finally admit their feelings!

I don't usually write reviews but this is just too good not to. Especially reading the latest one, number five. I had to explain to my boyfriend why I laughed so hard. It's not only funny but it's cute and got an interesting character dynamic. Hardworking boss in a corporation gets asked by naive innocent romance novelist for some help, and from there it's pure gold. I sincerely hope they continue working on this.
