The world is plagued by demons. They attack people and livestock, and consume their souls.For some unknown reason, Lingling Wang seems to attract them. He's been trying to translate tens of thousands of research documents that could potentially hold the secret to artificially enhance an exorcist's powers. At least, according to his father, who was an exorcist from the eastern lands.
That's when the emperor's arrangement brings the two of them together.

I love this series so much!The art and coloring are beautiful, the story is great, the plot/twists & details make you beg for more, and the characters are likable, and progressing wonderfully. This is a masterful piece of art. It has beauty, comedy, blooming romance(im only at ch. 19, im still on edge for the fullness of it), amazing plot and so much more.I highly recommend this story to anyone!! You will not be disappointed. If anything you will be wanting more.Lingling and Feng's story is truly something the more things unfold. I love the characters and their development.This really is a beautiful story and should be read. 5/5!Can not wait for more as i need more updates please!!

Read 1-7. The art is gorgeous, especially the backgrounds. The story is ok so far, I'm intrigued by what's going on with Lingling, but the simple dialogue and shallowness of background characters does not help to flesh out the story. (Pet peeve of mine is when almost every other female character is inexplicably cruel to the main character, as if women are always jealous of each other. Far too common in shoujo.) The main characters so far don't have a lot of depth, but I am still early in the story. It's a very easy and quick read.

Love it!!! This series really is just so beautiful!! The plot is just so interesting that it made me want to read it again & again while i can't wait for the upcoming chapters!! At first I started reading because of the art is so beautiful ??, but now I'm also more into the amazing story/plot. I highly recommend this 10/10!! The characters are very likable and cute!? Looking forward for more Lingling and Feng's development in the story and their background story as well, they're just so adorable and CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE UPDATES !?? 10/10 plus!!!

Pretty art. No romance to speak of for the first 7 chapters. Country girl gets bullied by mean city girls. That part seems pretty cliche. The mystery of the curse is pretty intriguing, though. I'm curious what her anklet has to do with anything, and if the woman who took her in is as she appears.

Wow! Okay, so I started reading 1-7 since they were free. But then I bought 8 to 13 as well! Will definitely keep reading. The art is stunning, and the characters are interesting. I like the world they've created too. I can't wait to see how Lingling and Feng's romance develops. There are some other hot guys too! I appreciate the plethora of eye candy.

The plot in the early chapters is two things. One, the protagonist thinking about and describing people. Two, she's being bullied. The plot is building into something about demons being obsessed with and attacking her, which might develop into something interesting in the future, but it's poorly paced. None of the points can really be interesting because I, the reader, have to be introduced to and invested in all of them at once to keep track of what's going on. This makes the story feel disjointed, as does a lack of clarity in how much time passes between scenes.

Read 1-7. Enjoyed it. Characters are interesting, will be good to see how they interact together. Feng and the emperor should be funny, as love happens and the stoic kid gets teased by the experienced husband. And concubine shuang seems witty <3 The drama is believable, not too cringe, thankfully. The art is well done too! I enjoy the color verticomix/webtoons style a lot, and there's some lovely detail in the color And I think the action flows well with the format.

It's a very good story. My only real issue *spoilers alert* is that after kissing her and she runs away, the next scene with them together they are talking normally. There is no proposal, but it goes straight to him asking the emperor permission to marry her which had me thinking 'did anyone bother to actually Ask the bride to be if she wanted to get married????'. Then they are preparing for marriage. It really spoils the ending, makes it weird, potentially no-consenting, and makes you go 'wtf?'. I tried imagining a scene where they talk it out and he proposes after she flees from him kissing her, and before the following scene, and that makes the ending make much more sense, be consensual, and makes it romantic, not weird and awkward. So good story, but wtf is that end to the romance part? *end spoiler.*

This story is so cute. I feel like there is more to the MC than what we've been told so far and I can't wait to watch it unfold. The ML is extremely considerate which comes across as cold in the beginning but it's nice to see the care he gives the MC. It's a well thought out story that I really enjoy reading!

If you like long detailed stories then this one is a must read. Has just the right amount of mystery, jealous rivals, a little humor, and of course the sweet budding romance between the two main characters.

Fully recommend reading starts off strong for story going right into future issue than explains it and wow is it a story you can just fall in love with an keep wanting to read more I hope to learn more bout characters and what they go through in the future. I didn't expect much of the story at first but the plot is great and characters personalities and background are very intriguing and make it so worth reading. Can't wait to read more seriously must read just WOW absolutely beautiful artwork and just everything amazing I can't stress it enough just how awesome this story is.

woah, that art is gorgeous! the world is rich and the action scenes are exciting, so far. It has historical fantasy elements. My only complaint would be flashback scenes mixed in and got a bit confusing at times. But reading about the political schemes in court and the drama has been cool. The male love interest comes off like a cold beauty, and the female lead isn't a complete damsel in distress archetype. Cheerful even.

I read only 1-7 and so far its on a steady path route. The Fl is a pushover in which I hope develops to a stronger character in the story. I hope the story doesnt derail too much from the FL main intention on stopping the curse.

I have read the reviews of this story and they are very positive so I decided to take a look at it, I really liked it. I think I would recommend this story to someone who likes imperial and romance, Also, its characters are very interesting so that makes it a great story.

Not a huuuge fan of VertiComix type manga, usually bc there's seldom enough smut and, when there is, it's never smutty enough. However, the art is pretty, and reading manga in color every once in a while is a nice change of pace from the normal black and white that I'm used to. The story itself is kinda meh and cliche, but if you like slower romances with a more wholesome storyline and not a lot of smut, then this is definitely the manga for you. Happy reading! :)

A slow burn but a great story! It kept my interest the whole way through. 68 chapters would normally feel like a lot but with these characters, it doesn't seem like enough! That said, the ending is lovely.

The first two chapters are interesting. Seemed like a near carbon copy of My Happy Marriage, but it's not (and the story isn't bad). Interested in where this is going. There are some translation errors in the interaction with the guard, but otherwise, great scan.

The art is pretty cute. The story takes a bit of time to get interesting and then becomes frustrating very quickly. Regardless its an interesting plot and the first 7 chapters were fun to read! Chapter 2 has been uploaded out of order but it's still readable for the most part.

It's an interesting premise. I like it and the intrigue/problem/curse. I also like the demon and magical aspect, and the fact that at the start she's interested in solving her problem instead of getting a man. It's interesting without being overly melodramatic like I find some of the other Verticomix. I'm interesting I learning more of the story.

The art is increíble and the characters are interesting. It's a lot of exposition at first though, so that can get a bit overwhelming. If you're a fan of fantasy/historical romance, I recommend you give it try and see where the story goes.

The idea of an exorcist who will help fight off the demons plaguing the female lead is exciting too and I see potential as the story progresses but I'm really tired about reading about weak and pitiful female leads. I really hope she can become stronger faster. I look forward to reading more.

This seems like a pretty typical Manhua, the pace is a little weird and the dialogue is kind of boring (from the 7 first chapters). I won't rate it too low because I've read too many translated novels to really enjoy this type of comic anymore but the art is beautiful and well coloured. If you're new to Chinese fantasy you may find this interesting, it's an entry level kind of story.

I'm going to give this a 3 star only based on the 7 chps I've read… not a fan of this so far. But it could be just me! It's the supporting cast that really is a pain to ignore m. All the women seem to hate our MC! BUT it's beautiful and I'm hoping it does pick up pace!! ^^

I only read 1-7. The art is gorgeous. The story seems fairly cliche though. I've read a fair bit of shojo and wuxia, and nothing seems that outlandish. It's not bad though. The characters seem well written. The pace so far isn't the worst. If it's what your looking for, you'll enjoy it. Otherwise, just skip it.

I love how it is in colour instead of black and white. The plot is kinda cliche though. Every other chinese manga I have read all revolve around a illegitimate child or a child who has lived in the countryside all their life, finally coming to a central city or a capital city and start working in the palace. Over all it is a very good story and the characters are well drawn.

Read chapters 1-7. Art is very nice - I especially appreciate the details in the clothing and backgrounds. The characters are very cute, especially the ML, who looks quite cool. -1 star: The story itself starts off with the cliche “MC is disadvantaged and bullied by everyone and rescued by MLs”, but thankfully doesn't drag too long with that trope. It's also made tolerable by the fact that the MC is not “perfect” or OP. Seems like it will pan into an interesting and sweet story. Excited to see more of the fantasy world, growing romance, and courtesan drama that we all secretly crave.

Very fun with a lot of potential! A great mix of supernatural fantasy, intrigue, and with interesting twists and turns. The art is beautiful and consistently done throughout all the chapters. The relationships between the main cast are interesting and health, I'm excited to see where it goes! It's definitely a mix between a wuxia and a shoujo romfan! I would say that if you're not familiar with Chinese fantasy troupes and settings might be less of a smooth read, but it's not heavily dependent on it!

I'm not a big fan of the webcomic/verticomix layout but this the artist makes good use of it. I was also impressed by the quality of the artwork! Every panel is beautifully drawn, colored and shaded. The story is well paced (read ch 1-7), and I'm curious where it will go. I would say this is the best verticomix I have read on Renta! I'm looking forward to what kind of relationship the cute main character and the handsome exorcist will have.

After reading the first 6 chapters I am definitely interested in continuing the story, the colors are bold and beautiful, and the grammar is very clear. The lines read naturally and I could feel the characters motivations behind them. My only issue is the characters design, specifically faces. They are in an exaggerated style that I am not a fan of and takes away from their authenticity.

First the art is beautiful, the story is interesting and I'm enjoying that the main male isn't a prince or royal. You get to know a bit about main female before she meets main male, the side characters are good as well. I've only read to chapter 10 so hopefully it continues as well as it started.

This is one of the most amazing stories I've read so far. The artwork is stunningly beautiful as are the characters who develope and grow on you chapter by chapter. As the story unfolds it's impossible to not get roped into the plot. The main protagonists are wonderfully depicted and you can't help but to be drawn to them. An absolute must read!

The story is interesting so far! Art is beautiful and completely colored. It seems like your typical manhua story at the get-go, but the world-building is good and development between Lingling and Feng isn't forced. Apart from jealous court ladies, most characters are likeable and easy on the eyes, such as Lord Siwei. Looking forward to reading more of the story!

I really like the artwork for this series. Admittedly I've only read the previews (my wish list is already 50+ titles deep), but what I did read piqued my interest. I like the combination of a period story with magic elements. Generally I prefer faster pacing, but for most people this pace should be fine. Unsure if I'll continue or not. I would feel bad giving 3 stars to something I didn't read much from, so I've given 4 instead...

First couple of chapters in and I'm loving the tale of the country bumpkin trying to escape her cursed life, by seeking help from the Imperial Court exorcist. I'm pretty much a sucker for anything mentioning old school exorcists and/or the supernatural.The story looks like its got lots of potential on where it can go - given its a shoujo I'm hoping for a HEA! My only sticking point is the Vertix comic format - I'm not a huge fan of reading my online manga this way, although I understand the formatting change given the style the story has been drawn in.

I would recommend this to someone who already likes manhua or similar stories. The art and story do not seem particularly remarkable. The heroine, Lingling has no idea why she's a magnet for demons so she travels a long way in order to consult with someone who does. To do that, she enters the imperial palace as an attendant to one of the emperor's concubines. Demons aren't the only thing Lingling has to worry about. There are also a lot of petty antagonists who do not like Lingling and try to bully her.The translation is well done, it's easy to read. I was worried about the cat but I'm glad that it's safe and unharmed.

So far the beginning does not drag out certain scenes and really picks up a good pace. The color is pretty and makes the story very pleasing to the eye. The storyline is good. Lingling needs to figure out what is wrong with her and that's why she needs to meet the imperial exorcist. She gets bullied along the way but she doesn't seem to let that get her down. She truly cares for others especially her cat. I look forward to see what the story will bring.

The art is amazing, beautiful and colorful, the story has many intricacies that I look forward to figuring out. What really happened all those years ago, who really is who, and what is happening to our MC. Even the feline and dragon are adorable. I look forward to more chapters.

I came for the art and stayed for the story! There are interesting elements being mixed here without straying outside the genre. The burn is slow but satisfying, with information skillfully spooled out bit by bit. The heroine is a detective in her own mystery while simultaneously uncovering our male lead's complex arc. It been a lot of fun!

The story is a beautiful story. The more I read, the more entranced I was. The outfits from the era are beautiful and the colors used are so bright. I like the jewel idea and for everyone. One thing that I loved was looking at the faces of the young men. So very attractive and sexy are Lord Feng, Lord Siwei, and the Water Dragon. I have many questions and wondering about the next volumes but I don't want to ruin it. This is worth reading all the way through. I know I will when the next volumes come out. Not erotic or yaoi or classic romance. But still very, very good!Must Read!10/10

The story is intriguing, I'm up to chapter 7 and planning to purchase more. The characters have great development and easy read for beginners to this genre. The artwork is stunning and you see every detail to make the story come to life.

The art is very pretty! Ling Ling is cute, and I'm intrigued by Feng. No romance yet as of Ch. 8, so I hope that develops more. I'm not a huge fan of palace intrigue plots, so hoping that lessens and the fantasy aspect gets explored more.

I haven't read everything just the free episodes (1-7) & though it has a slow start, it's gotten pretty interesting! I'd definitely come back to read more! It sort of gives me "Inyuasha" vibes, if you like that Anime series, I'd recommend giving it a try!

Wow, it's interesting. Feels a bit like Cinderella story, which is being bullied by her step family which on this story people around her. Nice art and look beautifully in Chinese theme style. At first appear the FMC looks super plain, innocent without any power and don't know anything. But it will be nice if she got some special power to help with the exorcising act. Maybe she could be the demon caller or awakener? I'd be looking forward to read whtn FMC getting stronger and could use her power perfectly for help the guys in exorcising

I read the first 8 chapters and I don't wish to continue simply because this isn't my style of story. The 4th star is for the art.I am not fond of helpless, naive women that do no wrong like the FL is projected to be, nor of petty rivals that seem a littlr 1-dimensional. But the art is very pretty, and the ML has great characteristics that I think readers would enjoy. A classic romance with conniving politics, magic, and mean rivals, with the twist of being focused on exorcists and demons. I have no doubt the FL will grow in character, and I hope she also grows in depth. I also hope her adversaries grow as well, since right now they are too much of simple obstacles for her to face instead of fully fleshed out characters with their own needs and desires. I say this in the hopes that the writer will give their other characters a little love as well. A great villain is one you can relate to, rather than just hate. Still, handsome ML and very pretty art. I wish the story well.

This is an interesting one. The plot has a surprisingly unique way of progressing and the characters are multifaceted so far. I think that Lingling is quite adorable. She's innocent, but carries a sense of determination that makes for a good combination. It's easy to root for her and her endeavors, and I'm interested in seeing her story develop. Other characters, even minor ones like the other empresses, are also detailed well in their personalities and designs. As for the art, it is above average in terms of details and coloring. I personally have an issue reading web comics with elongated panels, but it's made easier with all of the beautiful backgrounds. You get a real sense of the kind of places these characters live and interact with. Overall, I think it's a great choice for those interested in a Chinese historical fiction. The characters are fun and interesting, and the lore adds a good sense of mystery.

actually I don't really like to see women fighting each other just to attract men's attention. But there is special spaces about Chinese Imperial Harem System story, when women are of various backgrounds want have the chance to go into the palace to show themselves in front of the emperor to attract his attention and this story is quite detailed in describing the intrigue in imperial harem with supranatural events and demon, and there is Ling Ling who is not interested in harem matters, only wants to get rid of the curse that stuck and made her lose everything and get friends and love in the process

I'm absolutely in love with this story so far. The magic and the historical settings really draw me in. I like that there's more than just romance driving this story, what's causing LingLing's problems? How does Feng connect to her, because at this point there's something beyond romance connecting them. In addition to the complex story lines, the art work is stunning and I find myself wanting to go back and look at the art, even as I want to rush through the story to find out what happens next. If you're looking for a low-angst romance combined with some good mysteries set in a version of ancient China where magic is real, this story is sure to be worth checking out.

Adorable main character and great action! This has a slightly different spin than other similar historicals of this type. I like mash-up of demon hunting and this time period. A good start to this series.

This is an amazing and well written story that I had ever read in a while! It might very well be the best read for 2023! The art style (alongside the coloring and shading) is beautiful, and the story itself was easy to follow! Seriously, everyone should give this series a try as you would be missing out if you didn't! Lingling and Feng for the win!

As far as I can tell from chapter one, the art is nice and the story delivers what one would expect it to. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but if the description sounds interesting to you, give it a try.

It's amazing! I have more to read, however what i have read was a refreshing contrast to what I usually read. The art style is fantastic. It draws you in to the story. 5 stars in my opinion!

I realize this title isn't finished yet, & that's when I like to make a review, but, not this time. So here we go: The artwork is GORGEOUS!!! It's so detailed, (& yes, dare I say it yet again), Intricate. I know I use that word alot, but it's true. The story is Intriguing. The FL is Cute, the MLs are GORGEOUSLY drawn! This went on my Wish List Immediately after I read the sample. I Highly Recommend this Title! ;()
