The lead female is a sweet, selfless and self-sacrificing cinnamon roll, a truly pitiable woobie who triggers every single protective mama bear instinct I have. Which makes me absolutely loathe Mr. A-hole McPettyCoward for the hell he put her through. She almost died because of how needlessly vindictive he is, and she constantly blames herself for the suffering he caused her. He never even thought to question her guilt, and only does so when evidence of her innocence practically (but sadly not literally) smacks him in the face. And his way of atoning for his reprehensible actions is merely to throw his money around, because he's too much of a coward to do anything more meaningful. I give this three stars because the art is beautiful, the lead woman keeps tugging at my heartstrings, and her baby is precious.
