I thoroughly enjoy fantasy manga, so this positive review may be a little biased. There's a more complex vampire system here, with pure bloods, half-bloods, sub-bloods, individual powers, which I find intriguing. There's also a lot of backstory for such a short manga. Because of this, there are times when I felt confused by the plot, but I was able to keep moving forward. The characters Shuk and Stephen are very compatible. If you're looking for steamy scenes, this is not the read for you. It's about finding a lifelong partner - and sex does not play a role in that for these vampires.

This is the kind of atmospheric, poetic manga that makes you work for the meaning. The pacing is a bit uneven - some scenes get worked out in great detail but don't really go anywhere plot-wise, while others move the story forward at the speed of light. The art is very expressive, with unusual inking and painterly backgrounds that sustain the emotional tone. Definitely one that I will re-read for the art, not the plot.
