As other reviewers have stated, this is a bit kinky. But warm, fuzzy, adult kinky because the characters have a real connection to one another. The absurdity too is not the result of piling up random excuses of plot elements just to dead end in another unjustified sex scene, but a purposeful choice on the part of the author. The MC opens himself up to what is different than him and there's a nice layer of reflection in the story about how one deals with such difference - do you try to change the other person to your mold, “live and let live” as opposites, or change yourself to be a bit more like them? Give this manga a try, you might be pleasantly surprised. If nothing else, the art is confident and quite sexy.

It's a moving story that manages to freshen up the musician/actor pairing. The MC have depth and integrity. I am especially liked how they're represented as true partners, alternating who is in the position to support the other based on circumstances. This feels realistic and IMHO makes the (numerous) sex scenes hotter as they are connected emotionally to the plot. Alas there is a trauma element but it is handled gracefully.

Meh… I've liked three other works of this author that are available in English for their sweetness and humor. There was some of that here too, but not enough to win over the formulaic plot and raise it above average. Rent it out for an enjoyable quick read.

This is one of those stories that requires a certain melancholy mood to be fully appreciated. It leaves a lot for the reader to backfill and you might find it either frustrating or intriguing. For me it was the latter, to the extent that I upgraded from a rental to a buy as I wanted to restart as soon as I finished reading. The art is gorgeous and unique, I wish I could see more of this style in the mangaka's other works.

Harada is becoming one of my favorite authors for her skillful balance of humor, unvarnished representation of ugliness, and genuine, touching emotion. This story is character not plot driven, and I've given it 4 stars because the world building is weak in comparison with other music BL series I loved ( Unohana's Fickle Jaguar, of course Given, and Pink Heart Jam). This is bold character driven storytelling that doesn't shy away from moral ambiguity. Frankly I was uneasy at the implied coexistence of very real humiliation of one MC by another MC with love - I was not sure how to read it, was it intentionally presented as a kink within the story and so shouldn't make me uncomfortable? Still pondering!One last comment on the smut: there's a lot of it, and I found it just meh. Repetitive and I guess pretty vanilla? That being said, there are some very sexy scenes of seduction where I fully agreed with the characters 'yes, that person is hot!'

I cannot wait for volume 3. The series' humor is pitch-perfect, so masterfully close to parody without ever falling in the trap of cheap laughs. I like stories where the sex happens first so you get both the smut and the slow-burn suspense of how a deeper relationship is being built. But to say more about the plot and especially the ending of volume 2 would be to spoil the fun! One more comment about how masterful this series is - in general, I have mixed feelings about cherub-art works with erotic content (ie very young and sweet looking people, kii kanna's stranger by the sea is another recent example) but the gap here between the angelic characters and their potty mouths, selfish personalities, and kinks is pretty irresistible. Kinda like a really good lemonade - any less sugar and the tartness would pucker your mouth, any less lemons and the sweetness would cut out your appetite.

Meh. I love the more recent titles of this team, The whimsical Jaguar, and The Dog and the Howling Moon, so this was a bit of a disappointment. It's a very standard, un-realistic romance. The art is attractive but it is not a book I would re-read.
