The FL, Tsumugi, lives in a classist world where people with animal features are considered greater than humans. She, an impoverish human, lives a rough life of labor and has grown to have a cynical view of life. Yet, she frequently dreamed of another life where she was a modern woman with a beloved pet Shiba Inu, Sora, who she prioritized greater than any suitors (based). In turn, Sora protected her and loved her back... but a little dog can't do anything versus a speeding truck. Turns out, this dream was of her past life, and Sora has also reincarnated into a handsome, wealthy lord who has been searching for his former owner. Now that he has found her, he pledges to protect her in this life as well! ...Which is most efficiently done by owning her as his pet. It's actually a very cute set up since the two already dearly love each other (platonically, but clearly this can change) and I'm curious what plot is in store. Art is good, a few grammatical mistakes, but nothing jarring.

A very sweet and easy read! All the characters that appear (yes, side characters too) are meaningful and don't feel unnatural, the affection between the leads is sincere despite some ups and downs, and I'm happy with how everything ties together in a pretty bow. It's a very fairytale Happily Ever After kind of story where it's easy to tell who is good and who is villainous, and everyone gets their just desserts in the end. It doesn't challenge any norms, and it uses many "overused" tropes?but sometimes you need something straightforward like this. Feels like a classic, maybe something I can reread before bed for a soft, fluffy mood.

I'm surprisingly hooked. The art style is lovely, our leads are beautiful, and it's fairly easy to read. What brings me the most joy, however, is the writing. There's a lot of humor from our FL's thoughts and reactions, from her misfortune to serendipity. The demon lord's reactions to her (outside of the steamy parts) are also hilarious, which hints to me that he's actually a very un-scary person despite his role. I genuinely laughed at parts?not to say that's all. I'm very curious how the sister, Leah, will bring the story about as she's the sole witness of her sister getting kidnapped on her behalf. Will she inspire war to get her sister back? I really want to know what happens next, and I'm greatly looking forward to future books!

Its a bit misleading to label the male lead as a "dragon" when the story identifies his monster blood to be of a "soul eater", which perhaps falls into a "dragon-like" subsidiary in-universe, but, at a meta level, he doesn't have the same tropes I'd associate with a "dragon" (e.g. flight and fire breathing, not tentacles and controllable slime). Despite this "huh" detail, it's still a fun read, and I'm interested in how the relationship between our knowledge-hungry female lead and domineering male lead will develop. And the riveting, magically-enhanced explicit action, of course. Looking forward to future updates!
