Yes, um.....VERY interesting twist on a Harlequin novel. Girl agrees to marry man, man turns out to have attacked her mother 20 years before.....girl doesn't seem to care. Not fluffy and light but not total dark and disturbing either, which is a little bit disturbing in itself. You kind of come out of it thinking "I don't flat out hate these characters" but you also expect that they should act differently. I've rated it 3 but that's only because I'm not really sure how I should rate it. It's not an easy read but it is redemptive - there's almost a link to the old Greek plays of tragedy, comedy and catharsis, but I don't think the story is meant to be as complicated as that.

This one was really sweet. Apart from dyeing and cutting her hair, the heroine doesn't change that much, the hero seems like a decent guy and their relationship seems healthy, which is a novelty with harlequin stories where either they meet and fall in love in the space of a week or the hero spends most of his time making the girl feel exceptionally bad, for no other reason than he can. Worth a read.

This was fun. The flirting between the main characters was genuine and affectionate. The story made me smile. Recommended.

Not bad at all. No one uttered the phrase "We from completely different worlds", the hero seemed like a genuinely likable guy (who obviously has flaws and problems - this is a Harlequin romance after all), the heroine is more than just a cardboard cut-out and their relationship doesn't feel forced or rushed. It's a good story with a pleasant outcome. I'd recommend it if you want to spend half an hour reading a good story.

Meh. The 'hero' is a mean, bossy jerk of a man. I doubt any woman would actually fall in love with him. Since this is a romance story it kind of makes the whole thing fall flat. She seems alright, but he's the kind of guy who spends his entire time being nothing but rude and mean and who feels that this is his entitlement. It isn't. It's....alright, I suppose, if you want to fill the time, but I wouldn't read it again.

Just awful. I don't I had read more a quarter of this story before I knew that I didn't care about any of the characters. The main guy is equal parts controlling and neglectful, like many textbook abusers and the main girl, like many enablers, lets him control her and neglect her in equal measure. Everyone in the story is inherently selfish and dysfunctional. Don't waste your time and money. I wished I hadn't.

This story was weak. Both main characters who 2D charactures. I didn't care what happened to either of them. Actually that isn't true because I was hoping that they'd be eaten by giant sea monsters. Alas no giant sea monsters appeared in this story. There was also a distinct lack of dragons or killer pirates either. In all seriousness this is a story of a baby (who loses her parents in a car crash) and her surviving uncle and aunt. She loves him. He's terminally stupid (because he doesn't realise that he 'wuvs' her. She approaches him to look after baby. They sleep together. They find love. The end. It's been done before and it's been done better. I shouldn't waste your money unless you really want to.

Avoid this one at all costs. I can't believe that I spent money in order to read this one. The male protagonist is as two dimensional as they come - if I was in the same room as him, I wouldn't find myself acting in a acquiescent fashion, purely because he's arrogant and supposedly handsome. In fact, being near him would make my skin crawl and being touched by him would make me want to knee him in the goolies. There was nothing romantic about this story and I'm not sure why someone spent the time to translate it.

I can't reply to the previous review by Chicobaby04, but I can write this here. This is only the first part of the story, so kind of ends on a cliff-hanger. The second part, which is called 'A stormy Greek marriage' will probably come out at some point and will show what happens to Billie now that she is married. It's not a bad story - I base this on the fact that I don't want to hit any of the people in it with a big wooden spoon. My rule of thumb of whether a Harlequin novel is worth reading is when it doesn't contain main characters that you would want to push into a canal.
