Light-hearted, sweet and charming with a nice amount of comedy. The characters are all likeable in their own way, Annie is bubbly and vivacious, she's so adorable and precious and effortlessly charms everyone she meets with her genuine enthusiasm, while Grant is more serious but still kind and noble, willing to go out of his way to help the na誰ve and unlucky Annie. I love how they both learn and change through being together, they both help each other realise their flaws and develop as people, it's not one-sided. Grant's brother isn't left out, he's given some development and a proper, respectful goodbye. There's an OW, but she's not truly a rival, she's an independent, sexy lady who I fully believe would've moved on had Grant been honest with her from the start since, while she's not the nicest person and does as she pleases, once she realises the situation with the leads, she tells Grant to go after Annie and clues him in on how much he's changed. Lovely story with lovely people.

Clich辿 and stupid plot, insufferable and insipid characters, the pacing was rushed even by Hq standards. We jump from one scene to the next at breakneck speed, allowing no room for development of any kind, it's a barrage of things happening without exploring any of them. The guy is unbearable, he lost his wife so rejects love (yes that tired old excuse), he never listens to the woman, doesn't discuss ANYTHING with her even when making decisions concerning her (for entirely selfish reasons), dismisses her concerns about the rival woman (who exists to be evil incarnate and ruin everything for everyone), spends an ungodly amount of time alone with said rival, whom he used to date btw, and allows her meddling, and is just in general an utter tool and a horrible piece of human garbage with no redeeming qualities. The woman is... just...there. She has no real agency of her own and her every decision is made by other people. Skip this. Your money and points are far better spent anywhere else.

Short but sexy, there was an ok attempt at plot, the characters were decently interesting and developed, and the smut was nice and spicy. Yoda (why that name?! It's hurting my inner Star Wars fan!) was very adorable, she somehow managed to be bouncy and innocent, yet horny and perverted, so her shenanigans with the men were believable for a girl so into porn. The guys' interest in her was also understandable considering how much she's come to mean to them (without her even realising it!). It was definitely worth renting but I don't think there was enough there to keep me coming back.

I hesitated to rent this because the marriage-w/o-love tag made me worried that Gillian would take Maks back despite how he dumped her, and while that sadly is the case, to her credit she did at least put up a decent fight and refused him for a while. But she's still the self-effacing, self-sacrificing woe-is-me type I'm thoroughly sick of. Never sacrifice your own happiness for the sake of someone who wouldn't do the same for you! Maks is so self-absorbed he doesn't even understand why Gillian doesn't immediately jump back into his arms once he finds out she's pregnant and genuinely believes things will go right back to how they used to be. He's another "my parents weren't in love so I don't believe it exists" clich辿 lazy writers use to try to justify and excuse any and all a-hole behaviour, which works even less here because Gillian's parents didn't even love HER yet she's not a jerk! The only decent person is the queen who hijacks the plot to sort out the leads' bs since they won't.

Ok story with decent characters, but it wasn't as griping as I thought it would be and there was a lot of inconsistencies all round. Christina comes off as a walking disaster at first, to great comedic effect, but then her clumsiness and bad luck disappears and she's just your typical insecure, angelic tragic waif, very likable but not as interesting as she starts off as. Richard is bland & boring throughout, nothing about him stands out least of all his personality (if he even has one), he's as forgettable as they come. The plot with the ring was what first interested me, there's just so much that could be done with it but it was wasted! The leads spend the whole story trying to get it off the girl's finger and that's it (I'm serious, that's literally the entire story, interspersed with the two, mostly Christina, chatting, again mostly about Christina). The romance was lacklustre and the chemistry non-existent, the addition of the Other Woman was pointless and artlessly shoehorned in.

This ended up being a lot more interesting than I thought. The story is full of mystery and intrigue, with added military and espionage plots, civil war, gangs and long lost royalty. You learn more and more of the full story of what's going on over time, from the truth about Mykal's accident, to the incident that drove the couple apart, and both of their incredibly interesting backgrounds, yet because the myriad of plot points all mesh together very well it never felt overwhelming or muddled, every new bit of info we learn fits into the grand scheme and nothing feels extraneous or pointless, unlike many stories with complicated plots. Basically there's a lot going on and it's all very complicated, but it all makes sense and fits together. The characters are just as interesting as the plot, with the two leads being very well developed, likable and mysterious, I always wanted to know more about them and was never disappointed with what I learned. Much deserved HEA!

Not a fan of the art, it's too cartoony for my tastes but the ridiculously exaggerated expressions do fit the comedic tone of the story. I just wish there was a bit more substance, I honestly found this pretty boring. The plot seemed intriguing, Griffin (who is NOT a pirate, despite the title, he actually hates them) magically ends up 300 years in the future, in front of Meredith, who researches pirates, but the whole story is just about how Griffin learns to adapt to modern day life and trying to figure out how and why he travelled through time, as well as how he can return to his own time. Not a lot happens, just a bunch of talking and the same time-travel-culture-shock clich辿s we've seen done a million times (which sucks much of the comedy out of them). And the parrot wasn't anywhere near as prominent as the cover and preview imply, he's barely in this! If you want a very laidback, plodding time-waster with not much thought, then maybe read, but don't expect too much.

I'm really torn about whether I like this or not. On the one hand Franny was a great female lead, feisty, energetic and headstrong with the right amount of fragile insecurity and longing for love, she genuinely wants to change and I really want her to be happy. There was also some comedy, mostly towards the start, and some sweet moments, Elise is a great friend with great advice. But on the other hand, Brett was so unreliable and flaky, he kept playing with Franny's heart (though unintentionally), he kept getting her hopes up only to dash them every time, I can't stand how much he kept hurting her even if he didn't always mean to. I honestly think she should've moved on when it was clear that he wasn't taking her and her feelings seriously, and tried dating other guys to get more experience with love. All in all this story left a bad taste in my mouth.

For having such a light and comedic tone there sure was an abundance of heart and real emotion! Jayde was such a genuinely nice and pure-hearted lady, she cares so much about everyone even if she can't verbally express it too well (her brain-to-mouth filter is pretty busted and she is hyper-focused). Garrett is from a very prestigious family but hides a lot of pain and bitterness within because of it. As they fall in love they finally manage to see beyond their own worlds and issues, it's very gratifying. Candy was also a lot more likable than she first comes across, I'm impressed by how much thought she put into her show and how much she cares about others. It's incredible how a simple dating show managed to make such an impact and ignite the nation's heart like that! Jayde definitely is a national treasure! I also appreciate how consistent the tone and characters were the whole time, everything progressed very naturally and felt believable (for the world they're in ofc). I loved it!

Not a fan of the art but I loved the story. Max is so self-absorbed and covets his freedom and bachelorhood so much that it's no wonder Clea rejects his proposal when she tells him she's pregnant, the guy isn't husband material and Clea won't tie down a man who'll only resent her for it and be unfaithful. Fast forward 4 months and we see a very cranky, 6-months-pregnant Clea who still doesn't trust a now very clingy Max, who's trying to make up for his previous neglect. The bulk of the story centres around this slice-of-life of Max realising more and more what his stupidity and selfishness have cost him and trying so hard not to lose any more; he's learning that his life no longer revolves around him and struggling to prove this to Clea, who's having to deal with pregnancy struggles and her own distrust of Max. Add in their parents for an extra dose of comedy and you have a laidback, fun and stress-free manga.
