See kids, this is why communication is so important! The leads are both sweet and likeable people, who clearly love with each other, but their constant reluctance to talk to and be completely honest with each other leads to many misunderstandings. The girl is scared the guy will leave her if she tries to "shackle him with love", and she lets her own insecurities and a rival woman's poisonous lies and insults get her down. Meanwhile, the guy gets adorably huffy and pouty whenever his lady doesn't act jealous of all the women throwing themselves at him (despite him obviously despising them, especially said rival), but he avoids confessing his feelings to her for the same reason she does, ironically. His silence on another, more serious matter, also causes more misunderstandings, which shows that, even if it's to protect someone, it's still best to be honest with them. When these two silly geese finally do confess everything, it's truly heart-warming. I just wish we got to see their baby!

This is the first HQ story where I hate the girl instead of the guy. She's such a selfish, despicable, hypocritical, self-obsessed b**ch! She has a one-night-stand with a guy whose name she doesn't want to know, ends up pregnant, two years later when she happens to meet him again by chance, she acts cold to him and tries to avoid him and hide HIS daughter from him, then when he finds out, she tries to stop him from having any involvement in his child's life. She also keeps assuming the absolute worst of him, despite having no proof, and acts on those assumptions in the most selfish, hypocritical way possible. And this poor man has grown up being completely ignored and unloved by his parents, fought and survived cancer, faced the possibility of having his leg amputated and being sterile as a result, and lost his fianc辿e. And yet he still acts kind, courteous and patient towards the b**ch trying to keep his miracle child away from him! The fact they end up together is infuriating.

I'm guessing the guy mistaking the girl for her father's mistress is a bigger, more drawn out affair in the original novel, because here the misunderstanding lasted a day or two before it was cleared up (and the leads barely interacted during that time), yet the leads still keep talking about it like it was a big deal. The story instead focuses on the girl's interactions and growing relationships with her new family and the guy, with the romance often taking a back seat to the family drama. Poor girl has to juggle her dad's extreme affection due to over-compensating for lost time, her step-mother's antagonistic attitude towards her owing to a very strained marriage to an emotionally distant husband, and her growing feelings for the guy, all while trying to cope with her own grief over her mother death's and her grandfather's subsequent poor health. The story spends so much time (rightfully) fleshing out these issues, but that leaves the ending feeling abrupt and premature. Still great!

It was fine I guess, fairly predictable but enjoyable enough. It's nice that the guy had feelings for the girl for a while, but it took him way too long to realise it and even longer to actually tell the girl. Honestly, while he's nowhere near the worse HQ male lead, he's still not that great. He comes off as really flaky and unreliable, I just can't trust his words or feelings, so the abrupt ending where they get married left me very worried for the girl, I can't help but feel that he'll inevitably end up hurting her. The girl is a real darling, modest and very sweet, trying so hard to be strong, and so hurt by her ex, I feel so bad for her since she spends most of the story suffering in silence and being generally unhappy, while the guy keeps inadvertently hurting her (I'm a huge bleeding heart though, and a massive sucker for woobie characters). If HQ stories weren't forced to have a HEA I feel that the girl would be much better off leaving the guy, she could do so much better.

Funny and sweet, I'm glad I read it. I find it ironic how the guy thinks the girl is crazy (because she spent so much money to buy him), when he's definitely the more bonkers outta the two. There were a lot of misunderstandings getting in the way of the romance, caused by both the girl hesitating to reveal the whole truth to the guy (albeit for understandable reasons) and by the guy jumping to some hilariously wild and often ridiculous conclusions (my fav being that she's married to a rich and eccentric man living in a cardboard house). They're a couple of adorkable idiots and I love them! Their kids are gonna be nuts lol. But it's so refreshing to read a HQ story where neither is rich, the girl isn't a weak pushover, the guy isn't an arrogant, domineering, rude playboy, and none of the side characters try to get in the leads' way. Just watching these two goofs fall in love is more than enough. It definitely put a big smile on my face!

Lovely story with charming characters who, despite being the opposite of what the other wanted, come to realise that they're exactly what they needed. The h is a gentle, fragile woman done right. Although her past traumas still affect her and have shaped her life and goals, through facing her fears, with the H's support, she manages to overcome them and discover her inner strength. The H also has issues, he grew up unloved by his parents and so wants to be a strong, independent person, but he still manages to retain his kindness (though he won't admit it!). He isn't arrogant or a playboy, he's not overbearing or overly pushy, he's always respectful towards the h and even gets quite protective of her (which is great since her stalker sucks). The romantic build-up is excellent, it doesn't feel rushed, the leads don't instantly fall in love and jump into bed, they get to know each other through all their shared experiences, so the eventual confession of love and HEA feel truly earned.

This is the first time I've seen the girl (Ena) be the one initiating all the (incredibly steamy) sex scenes! The guy, despite his stern and strict attitude, and intimidating aura, is actually a bit of a prude, whereas the girl, despite her innocent, childish and oblivious nature, is surprisingly kinky and forward (though ONLY with her man, I'm serious about how dense she is around other guys, poor Kentaro). I absolutely adore Ena and I love how she goes from eager, if nervous, puppy, to energetic and overly enthusiastic puppy, with all the grace and joy that analogy entails. She is so precious and jumps at each challenge with reckless abandon, all her reactions are as hilarious and lovable as they are excessive, this chick does nothing by half! And the art is absolutely gorgeous! Definite must read!!

It's so refreshing to read a HQ title where both the leads are great people who actually deserve a HEA. The h is very kind and loving, she cares deeply for both the H and his niece and nephew; she is also strong, courageous and proactive, confident and self-assured, she's no meek, insecure waif who runs from her problems, and she absolutely won't let anyone walk all over her, she gives as good a she gets! The H is equally kind and courteous, a humble man willing to listen to others and take the h's advice, he knows what he wants and doesn't hesitate to go after it; he's also very loyal and devoted, and will go above and beyond to protect his loved ones. The kids are also really adorable and try their best to stay cheerful, despite losing both their parents recently. This is definitely a story about love and how important it is to hold on to it and protect it, because it's only with love, real, true love, that you can overcome hardship and find lasting happiness. Really lovely read!

The story was sweet and the ending left me warm and fuzzy, though that's mostly because I was happy for the h. The h is really gentle (except if you humiliate her!), kind, pure-hearted and honest, she's so adorable I wish she would punch jerks more often (there were certainly plenty here who deserved it). The H is... kind of an a-hole really, and a huge hypocrite, though he does ofc have some redeeming qualities (probably...). The grandfather is very interesting and the reason behind his wish for the MCs to marry is definitely the most intriguing element of this otherwise clich辿 plot. My main gripe is that the pacing is terrible. The MCs fall in love almost instantly, all without a believable reason, but don't reveal that, and then spend the next 6 months avoiding each other and barely interacting (all while being "married" and living together)! That's ridiculous! That timespan would have been much better used to build up the romance instead of being a vacuum of nothing! Such a waste.

This has to be my favourite HQ title! I love everything about it! The art fits the mood perfectly (beautiful at times, comically caricaturish at others), the plot is intriguing (the h must find a husband to gain control of her wealth and indulge her love of books, and coincidentally almost runs over the perfect man, a kind-hearted duke who just lost his fortune in an accident and desperately needs money), and the characters are delightful! The h is a bit eccentric and a huge bookworm, she's strong and proactive, yet has a good heart and tries her best to not let her inner demons get the best of her. The H is very well-meaning and kind, if a bit na誰ve at times, but he will always do everything he can to help those he cares about. These two are truly perfect for each other and watching them fall in love is heart-warming and gratifying. Even the side characters have some hidden depths that might surprise you. I really can't recommend this story enough, this is a definite upgrade for me!
