I am a fan of this author's artwork, and from this point of view the story does not disappoint. I'm giving it five stars for the art and three for everything else - it's pretty light on plot, and don't expect the depth of emotion that is in her other work.

There's fluffy yaoi you read at the end of a hard day to get all warm and fuzzy, and there's the serious kind you choose when you're sad and you want some company. This is the second kind. It's a mature story of unrequited love that lets you understand why sex, no matter how fantastic, is not enough. I love the expressive art, the writing, the extensive inner monologues, but I'm reserving a star for the ending- the pacing has been great so far and I hope we won't have a rushed wrap-up in the next volume. PS: Renta folks, please tell us if a story is ongoing or completed in Japan, and how many total chapter/volumes are out there!

This was so very sweet! The characters were likeable but more than anything believable as young adults. The story is warm and delicate; even the given BL backstory of childhood drama is handled with a light touch and some humor. It felt so rewarding to read a manga that doesn't feel interchangeable with a dozen other high school romances between talented kids with a common interest. The art is lovely as well, with plenty of sparkly eyes and blushing cheeks. Looking forward to volume 3 - I hope the story manages to steer clear of the predictable jealousy / rival arc that seems to automatically occur in the life of a happy BL couple .

If you don't go in expecting this to be a serious slice of life manga, you will find it very entertaining and not so objectionable. It's slapstick, but also quite touching in how warmly it depicts the rewards of open communication in a relationship- both couples have lovely key moments when one partner is able to state their needs very clearly, and the other one listens, understands and reacts accordingly. Give this a try - it's an adult story with gorgeous art (as in, cool angles, dynamic paneling, great variety of expressions, fluid lines), great pacing, and unpredictable but not unrealistic plot.

It's been a while since I've read such a (hot) plot-driven manga. Multi-dimensional characters? Check. Cool fight scenes? Check. A villain with the potential for redemption? Check check. Where most BL mangas wrap up in 5.5 chapters, this one feels like it could keep going on for three times that length without overstaying its welcome. The pacing so far has been impeccable and I hope the story will continue to build in this careful yet unpredictable way.

Fantastic build-up to a happy ending. There's suspense but no angst, and a lot of gap moe!

Quick, entertaining read with a sprinkle of plot to keep you wondering 'will they or won't they?'

So very happy that Renta is continuing with this series. I can't tell if this is the last volume but the ending is satisfying enough. Despite the predictable BL tropes about childhood experiences influencing one's current state, there is more depth and sensitivity than usual in the explanation. This author understands very well the perspective of the 'sub' and the strength that is present in the partner who wants to be dominated. Definitely a series that rewards re/reading.

This is the kind of atmospheric, poetic manga that makes you work for the meaning. The pacing is a bit uneven - some scenes get worked out in great detail but don't really go anywhere plot-wise, while others move the story forward at the speed of light. The art is very expressive, with unusual inking and painterly backgrounds that sustain the emotional tone. Definitely one that I will re-read for the art, not the plot.

Excellent series that leaves you seeing things a little bit differently. The relationship between the two main characters is not easy, but you understand both why they are together and why they keep hurting each other. There's a lot of sex but - how should I say without being too crude - not of the 'stimulating' kind included for fan service; it's there because it has been established as the main way of connecting for the MC, and many times it is bittersweet precisely because it is too meaningful, seeing as it serves to express the love they have for each other in the absence of other ways of successful communication. I love Cole's character as a twink uke who is sensitive yet surprisingly tough.children out there, heed the R18 warning. Return back to read this great story after you've loved and lost a couple of times.
